Reva & Rubin

Life is a wave.

There are lows and highs, sorrows and joys.
Reva and Rubin, each in their own natural environment, had found life’s movement had reached a plateau.

Reva had settled into life in the UAE, after leaving New York City for a new adventure.

Rubin left Israel, after 10 years of entrepreneurship in Israel, to join the team of a company he had been working with for 4 years.
It was the bottom of the wave. The end of a cycle.
But since life is movement, like the sun dancing with the moon, one Shabbat evening, the planets were aligned for them to exchange a first look.

A first kiss on July 14, 2023, the day of the French Revolution, to change the rules of the game, question the future and challenge fate.

Was it meant to be? Who can say. It’s rather improbable that two Jews should meet in the United Arab Emirates, like each other so much that they feel they’ve known each other since the dawn of time, so much so that they decide to live together, so much so that they suffer from not being together for a day, so much so that they decide to get married.

Thanks to our community and families, and to Rabbi Levi for this Shabbat meal that will change our lives and those of our loved ones, and God willing, those of future generations.

La vie est une vague.

Il y a des creux et des hauteurs, des peines et des bonheurs.
Reva et Rubin, chacun dans son environnement naturel, avaient atteint le creux d’une vague.

Reva quitta New York City, après 10 ans d’activité professionnelle, elle a décidé de tenter une nouvelle aventure.

Rubin quitta Israël, après 10 ans d’entreprenariat en Israël, pour rejoindre l’équipe d’une entreprise avec laquelle il travaillait depuis 4 ans.
C’était le creux de la vague. Une fin de cycle.
Mais puisque la vie est un mouvement, comme le soleil danse avec la lune, un soir de shabbat, les planètes étaient alignées pour qu’ils échangent un premier regard.

Un premier baiser le 14 juillet 2023, jour de la Révolution française, pour changer les règles du jeu, questionner l’avenir et défier le sort.

Était-ce écrit ? Qui peut le dire. Plutôt improbable que deux juifs se rencontrent dans les Emirats Arabes Unis, se plaisent au point d’avoir le sentiment de se connaitre depuis la nuit des temps, au point qu’ils décident de vivre ensemble, au point qu’ils souffrent de ne pas être ensemble le temps d’une journée, au point qu’ils décident de se marier.

Merci à la communauté et à nos familles, à Rabi Levi pour ce repas de Shabbat qui changera nos vies et celles de nos proches et si Dieu veut celle des générations futures.
